The metal shaft fits into the quartz movement, and is part of new movements. If you are missing this part 99% of the time it is simply stuck in the minute hand and is held in place by a closed or open nut. Minute hands are always a flat sheet of metal only. Unscrew the nut, dislodge the metal shaft, and reinstall it into the movement. Certain George Nelson models (wall clocks made of solid wood) use a longer minute hand shaft that we can not source, but you can transfer it to a new movement. We only have the standard length metal shaft.
